“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.”
– St. Augustine of Hippo
Following this famous quote, this blog is not only meant to serve as a sort of logbook for my travels and a myriad of things I encounter on my trips to foreign countries, but also as a possibility for readers to get closer to a culture they might not be able to explore for themselves.
I was born in Vienna, Austria and am a recent graduate from the Master of International Journalism program at Hong Kong Baptist University. In 2011, I spent one semester at a university in Thessaloníki, Greece, where I got to emerge in the local culture for a short period of time.
If you want to read more about the countries I have visited, as well as articles about general topics or profiles of interesting people I meet, feel free to start reading right away!
As for my professional career, I have started to develop a passion for writing in high school, which only grew when I started my journalism studies. I have worked as a sub-editor for an Austrian newspaper for three years and started my work as a sub-editor for a medical magazine in March 2012. In July and August 2012, I also did a 2-month internship at a women’s magazine in Austria.
